1. No God-moding- No one likes a character who cannot be beaten, killed, sealed away etc. No one rp’s with such people.
2. No Spamming/Flamming/Trolling/OOC BS Talking- this is such a noobish move and makes you hated upon and most will simply ignore you till your tired of making yourself look bad and tire yourself out.
3. No 1-hit KO’s In traditional roleplay (depending on the roleplay) this was actually allowed so this varies depending on if you are in a clan and the leader is stronger then those in it they have given you power they can take it away .O. etc. noobies don’t really allow this anymore, >.> like its sooo hard to make another character of have someone bring your character back but i've never had a problem with it so this depends on you and your group.
4. No auto-rapes (this is another rule made up by noobs) Auto-rapes happen if you allow them to happen you have the ability to say i'm not going to participate or ignore the person duh. In traditional rp (for those rapist who weren’t noobs at it) they did it so well that you couldn’t help but allow it to happen. (they were so good at it they could finish in by the second post) now I am NOT going to show you how they did it you will have to go ask a legendary rp’ers someone who has been rp’ing the CORRECT AND OLD TRADITIONAL WAY. OOPS that’s right >.> the noobs and hoes made them leave. Im just putting this up here but i'm keeping my opinion out of this one XD.
5. Respect your fellow rp’ers remember its just a character but still show respect to them they are helping progress your storyline after all.
6. OOC and RP should be SEPARATE I cant tell you how many people now-a-days mix these things up and quit rp because they got emotionally involved ITS CALLED ROLE-PLAY FOR A FUCKING REASON. ^^ excuse my French.
7. Keeping Player Knowledge Separate From Character Knowledge
There may be points in the RP where a secret is revealed and out for everyone to read about. However, if Elf A told Elf B this secret while they were alone, no one else should know it. If you are unsure about whether your elf could have overheard, please ask before throwing this piece of information out as a topic of conversation around the dinner table. This also falls into implied secrets. For example - we all know the drill. A guy character hangs out with a girl character, it's assumed by the players (often correctly) that these two will soon embark upon a romantic relationship. However, if they have done nothing in the RP to indicate romantic feelings for each other, the tribe should not be talking about how these two are madly in love. This requires discretion, and again, if there are any questions don't hesitate to ask them.
8. Pre-RP Information
This is information that has been decided upon before the RP happens, or information that a character brings up to help further along the story line. This information can be helpful or have a drag on the plot. If this information affects an NPC or another persons character please discuss it. If it just affects your character and does not bring about Godmodding, then it is perfectly fine and acceptable.
9. Granted vs. Not Granted Information
Granted information is something a player posts to all, in order to get it out there. For instance, their character is short tempered. The player wants you to know that, so your character can be prepared for it and to give you an idea that it is coming. Granted information is just simple foreshadowing.
Not given Information are tidbits of a character or storyline that have not been made public in order to expand the roleplay at the GM or the players decided point. There are also pieces of information not given that a player will sometimes take for granted. WRONG.
Granted ie: Fred was a very quite person since the accident. He doesn't talk much or socialize well.
Please don't take for granted that George knows Fred. Discuss who he knows via PM.
10. Character Association
Each character belongs partly to a player. Even NPC's. Said character has an amount of traits that the player is already aware of or discovering through the RP. If any of your characters acts would affect the player ask them. Any major actions affecting NPC's should also be requested through their creator. All NPC's have a purpose too. (Non-Player-Character)
To be honest in the traditional old ways of rp there weren't all that many rules to be followed people used COMMON SENSE a thing some of the role-players now-a-days have forgotten.
